This isn’t a true minicomic, but a preview ashcan of a series coming in Spring 2007 from Ape Entertainment.
Jason is dreaming about being a superhero who has girls throwing themselves at him. That’s because of this quote, my favorite part of the book:

I’ve got to stop reading everything in my stack before I go to bed. It gives me weird dreams.
I don’t know if any non-comic fan will know what “everything in my stack” means, but I sure sympathized. In real life, Jason is a retail clerk who hates his dead-end job. His only escape is the comic store, but even there, the geeks gross him out. He’s too mature for them but not quite ready for the real world on his own. Then he meets Noel, a girl perfect for him…
Find out more at the Subculture website. It’s not surprising that they’re featuring a pull quote by Alex Robinson, because if this comes together right, it’ll have a lot in common with his Box Office Poison.
I don’t normally enjoy comics about comics fans, because they can easily seem lazy and/or indictative of someone who doesn’t know what else to tell stories about. I’m not able to put my finger on why this seems different to me, but it does. I hope the complete first issue lives up to its promise.
